World Cancer Day – 4th February

International Cancer Day is observed on February 4th every year to raise awareness and education about cancer, encourage its early detection, and prompt action to prevent and treat it.

The aim is to unite the world's population in the fight against cancer. The theme for World Cancer Day 2022-2024 is "I Am, and I Will" which emphasizes individual agency and personal commitment in the fight against cancer.

HFN have Carers with oncology experience who provide care and support to patients with cancer. This includes personal care, such as bathing and grooming, as well as practical tasks such as managing medications and transportations to appointments. Oncology experience means the Carer has a specialized knowledge and understanding of cancer. This is important as it provides additional support and comfort during a difficult time.
