HFN NOW OFFERS SERVICES AT MEDICAL AID SCHEME RATES*

HFN now offers Home Care services at Medical Aid scheme rates to patients covered by an in-home care benefit. Our BHF practice number means HFN can deal with any, and all, medical aids. HFN will apply for authorization on the patient’s behalf by submitting all relevant documents to medical aid.

Patients can usually claim from an advance illness benefit or post-operative benefit.

Medical Aids require a letter of motivation from the attending doctor, a Quotation and a letter of motivation from HFN. Our experienced admin department will assist by submitting these documents, claiming under the correct benefit, with the appropriate ICD-10 Codes.

Most Medical Aids require an assessment before granting authorization. HFN will arrange a full patient assessment to evaluate the medical condition and diagnosis and determine whether it is covered by the terms and conditions of the relevant scheme. 

Depending on the medical aid plan, HFN will inform the patient whether the service is covered in full or what co-payments, if any, will apply. Alternatively, the patient can pay HFN upfront if they require immediate assistance and then claim from medical aid later.

In order to assist patients with obtaining authorization HFN requires the name, address, ID, Medical aid name and number, and dependent code as well as a doctors motivation letter including ICD-10 codes.
